I was deeply saddened to hear of Jake's passing. He will always be part of my summer memories of Larrimac-he seemed "magical" to me. A special person with a giant heart. I am so sorry for your loss.

One of my most enjoyable memories was working in the office of the Deputy Minister, when Mr. J.H. Warren was Deputy Minister. Al, Peter, Edna, Pat and Kay and myself - we all worked as a team to with him to keep that office running. One of the best "bosses" I ever had, he was a true gentleman.

On behalf of the Retired Heads of Mission Association (RHOMA), of whick Jake was a loyal member, and also on behalf of Linda and myself we extend our most hearfelt sympathies. Jake was a distinguished public servant and diplomat who served his country well. He was also a fine gentleman and great leader of his troops. We have fond memories of our time together in London many years ago and in the warm and generous welcome Jake and Joan extended to all newcomers there. He also took us to Buckingham Palace for the reception with the Queen.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We regret we will not be able to attend the memorial service as we are currently in BC and will be there most of next week.
Sincerely,
John and Linda Noble
