Jake, it was good to know you, to have laughed with you, argued with you, joined with you in support of other soldiers, and to have grown old enough to forget the disagreements and celebrate the important things. I learned from you and have missed you. May you rest in peace.

Jackie,
May God bless you and yours during this time of sorrow. Even though it will never go away, sorrow will get better with time. Your mother and father instilled in you the tools that you would need to carry on when they were no longer around. We know you will be ok. Just reach back and use what they taught you. You and your family have our deepest sympathy.

Dear Jacob, Marshall, Jackie and Families,

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your father and grandfather. Though we will not be in El Paso to celebrate his life in the flesh, our hearts and minds will be there in spirit. We hope you will continue to cherish many special memories of your loved one and that you will find comfort in knowing that we share in your grief. May God bless and keep you in the days ahead as you go forth and continue his legacy. We love you!

Dad, thank you for being such a great father, and for being such a provider, in so many ways, to our family. You set such an example for us, giving us every opportunity to be successful and happy in our lives. You are forever my mentor and my hero. The things that you taught me will be with me for life. You showed me how to be a man, just by being you. Whenever I had questions on what to do, as I grew up, I would ask myself "What would Dad do?", and the answers always gave me direction and confidence to go forward. You and Mom instilled values in me that will be part of my makeup forever, and you let me know that I made you proud. The love that you have showed will be with me until I see you again. Give Mom a long, warm hug for me. I love you, Dad.
