Jake Summers Obituary

Jake David Summers

07.10.1993 - 10.30.2024

Jake succumbed to his battle with a ten-year illness in the Cleveland Clinic while holding the hands of the love of his life, Jessica Hoch, and his parents.

Jake was special, an eagle scout, 3 sport scholar athlete in high school, and he made a Division One football team as a walk-on red-shirt freshman. However, after his illness progressed, he faced significant hurdles that temporarily sidelined his promising career. Despite these challenges, Jake's resilience shone through. He worked tirelessly to return to the University at Buffalo, achieved his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and began his career before his illness interfered once again.

Jake is survived by his parents Dennis and Lynda (nee Germann), his sister Samantha (Carmelo) Oliveri, his brother Zack Summers, his grandmother Rita Germann, and a host of friends and family members that loved him deeply.

We will forever be grateful for the love and care Jessica gave him these past five months, never leaving his bedside and advocating for him daily.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday November 10th at the Oak Room at 4185 Lake Ave in Lockport. The family will be present from 12pm-2pm with a luncheon to follow for all.
