Jake TEICHROEB Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 3, 2004.
TEICHROEB _Jake. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Jake went to his heavenly home on July 30, 2004 in the arms of Jesus with his beloved wife Dolores and some family by his side. Jake was born June 1, 1933 and raised in Neuanlage, SK and attended Pembrook School. At age 18 he worked in the lumber camp in Burns Lake, BC. He was baptised upon his faith at age 21 by J.J. Thiessen. He started working for the City of Saskatoon in 1955 as a truck driver. In 1978 he married his beloved wife and best friend, Dolores Sheppard. They shared 26 glorious years together. He retired from the City of Saskatoon on June 1, 1993 after serving 38 years. His last 22 years were driving the garbage truck in the downtown area. He is survived by his beloved wife Dolores, sons, James (Jean), Esterhazy; Kevin (Diana), Penticton; Brion, Saskatoon; Randy, Saskatoon; Steve, Saskatoon; Kim Sheppard, Saskatoon and daughter Cindy (Larry) Schergevitch, Saskatoon. Grandchildren Kalee and Nicolas Teichroeb, Jenny Senger, Devin Teichroeb, Sheralee and Brion Teichroeb, Jeromy and Hayley Teichroeb, Alycia and Austin Teichroeb. Great grandchildren Jaden and Salome Senger and Joseph Teichroeb. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jake was predeceased by his parents Peter and Susanna Teichroeb; Sisters Annie Giesbrecht and Margaret Teichroeb and grandson Jerrod Teichroeb. Jake fought a courageous battle of cancer after being diagnosed June 4, 2004 with a brain tumor which was very unexpected. He passed away at St. Paul's Palliative Care Unit after only 4 1/2 days there. He was treated with unending compassion and loving care by all the staff. There will be a Prayer Service at the Martens Warman Funeral Home Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Elim Tabernacle, 3718 8th St. E. Saskatoon at 10:30 a.m., August 5, 2004 with pastor Eldon Schultz. The Interment will take place in Neuanlage Cemetery following the fellowship lunch. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martens Warman Funeral Home.
