James Abbiss Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 14 to May 27, 2022.
age 68, born October 12, 1953, passed away May 6, 2022. James "Jim" E. Abbiss is survived by his wife, Kandy Lynne, daughters Corinne and Genevieve, a beloved dog, and his boat, a 26 foot Trojan cabin cruiser. Prior to retiring to work full-time on his 26' pride and joy, Jim fixed various equipment depending on the decade. He started working at a paper mill, moving up to imported cars and then on to microfilm machines, during which he raised two children and finished his Bachelors in electronics, after which he worked on robotic hard drive storage, photo kiosks and retiring from ATM repair. Jim never met anything he could not fix or improve upon. He used this talent and skills to continue repairing cars for friends and family as well as keeping a small hobby horse farm for his girls. Once retired, his pet project boat became his full time job. Rain, shine or freeze, he would climb up onto it in the driveway, restoring the 1975 boat to its former glory and preparing for adventures to take his family on. He would drop everything to come fix whatever was broken, and was more proud than anything of his daughters. He loved hearing stories of his firefighting daughter's exploits, and lived to take his sidekick, Corinne, on island hopping boat tours.

Brian and we´re sad to hear of Jim´s passing. We will remember Jim as a quiet man who loved his family.

Jim trained me at Bell&Howell. He was a good friend and coworker. I will miss him.
