Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Cousin Jimmy Achord born 4 days after me and shared my husband's birthday. You have been remembered every year of my life. He touched so many lives and we are all the better for it.

Gene I am so sorry to hear about Jim. I always loved the friends we made when we were young, because of our parents and their friends. I so wish we had stayed intouch. My prayers and wishes are with you and all the family. Love and miss all of you.

It´s hard to write it all in a small section...American legion baseball and golf at Howell park, high school baseball & a short time at LSU...fishing, condo & beach life, Flora Bama, concerts, blue angels, LSU baseball with the "bleacher creatures",going to college World Series , lots of laughs with so many of his friends. I´ll always have great memories

Many shared fond memories of the numerous successful speckled trout and red fish trips Jimmy and I made as guests at JW Covington´s Leeville Camp. His famous words of "just one more" were fun in the boat, but dreaded in the cleaning shed!

I had the pleasure of sharing the left side of the infield with Ace at Istrouma. I have great memories of those years.

Uncle Jimmy was always the "fun" uncle and definitely enjoyed life to the fullest. I have fond memories of going to his house for Achord family functions to swim, fry fish, and watch a ballgame. His sense of humor always made you laugh. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
