Uncle Jimmy was like a movie star to me; tall, ridiculously handsome, impeccably dressed and unapologetically old school. He was a businessman. And, of course, he was successful in every endeavor he tried. He was a wonderful cook; and a great golfer. He LOVED dogs. He was a good friend. He was so many things.
Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Phyllis had the kind of marriage that cannot be recreated in Facebook posts. Their 50+ year devotion was unquestioned.
He was known for his wit. He teased me mercilessly, and I didn´t always like him for it. But I have loved him since I was 6 years old. I miss his laughter. I miss his sparkling eyes. Ok, I even miss his teasing.
Mostly I miss his presence: When Uncle Jimmy was in the room, you could hear the clink of ice cubes, the laughter, the jokes. He was the class and the music of the party. And he was FUN. A very special light has burned out...RIP, Uncle Jimmy, until we meet again.

The Celebration of Life for Jim last night was a beautiful occasion. It was wonderful seeing my special cousins last night and meeting so many family members. My siblings and I will always have such fond memories of Jim and our other cousins as we spent many Thanksgivings and Christmases together when we were younger. We would play games and put on shows and have pool and poker tournaments and sometimes go to the newest Elvis movie. We love you Jim and Marc and Linda, Bobby, Pauline, Ronnie and Bernie. You will be missed.
