James David Dodson passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2023 at the age of 81,surrounded by his daughters in Round Rock, Texas. Jim fought extremely hard during his extended illness and stayed strong until the very end.

Jim was a caring husband, father, papa, uncle and friend.

He was born to Robert Ray and Mary Margaret (Whisler) Dodson on April 11, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio. After graduating from St. Pete's High School Class of 1960, he attended NCTC in Mansfield, Ohio. He was also a part of the Mansfield Army Reserve. Jim married his wife, Patricia Jane Price on August 28th, 1965.

Jim loved spending time tinkering, being outside, listening to music, watching sports, lounging at the beach, going to Disney World, RVing and traveling. Jim and Pat spent 12 years traveling in their RV and enjoyed meeting people from all over. Jim and Pat then retired to Florida. Most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was very proud of his only grandson, Gerio and loved spending time together and spoiling him. Jim and Pat were also known to throw the best Christmas Eve parties! Jim was a proud retiree of General Motors, where he worked for over 35 years in accounts receivable at the Mansfield plant. He was also very active in school functions, sporting events and volunteering his time to help out the local community for his children and grandson.

Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Patricia Jane Price Dodson, Jim was survived by his children Amy (Rogerio) Fragale, Jill ( Michael) Dodson, his grandson Gerio (Alexis) Fragale, sister-in-law Janice Dickrede, niece Alison (Jonathan) Cochran, great nephew Justin Cochran and great nieces Kylie Cochran and Lindsey Cochran. He was also preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Margaret Dodson and his brother in-law Richard Dickrede.

Interment will be at Eternal Reefs in Sarasota Florida with his loving wife Pat. They both loved the beach, shells and the ocean.
