He was our math teacher in 1974 at Clover Park HS Lakewood, he was amazing and funny. I remember the math test on April 1st. Be sure to preview the test. I too worked on his Ford Pinto - Stan Kalista We talk about him often. And we both ride bikes and do the STP.
RIP Mr E.

Trigonometry, Limits, Pre-calculus some tough classes my sophmore (1975) and junior years at Clover Park. Mr. Erickson was tougher!! A great teacher, Wrestling Coach, best of all a truly Good Friend. One morning after class he gave me some important advice do NOT be early for wrestling practice Marty, Andy, and Oskar will be there wait til coach Dan or I get there. Coach Erickson was a Wolverine behind that smile with alot of good advice. When I hit my knees this morning you will be in my prayers Jim .... along with comfort and support for Jan and all family members. HAPPY TRAILS

Jim and I started work at CPHS the same year. We shared time and jokes together, even a beer or two at the old Tiki in Lakewood Center! Nancy and I are very sorry to hear of his untimely passing.

I went to school with Jim's son Craig and Jay. Jim and his wife used to take us on backpacking and canoe trips in Olympic National Park and x-county skiing at Mt. Rainier when we were in elementary school. We even went rock climbing a few times in eastern WA. I can truly say he fostered a true love of the outdoors and made us tougher for it. Although I lost contact with him several years ago, I am very sad to hear of his passing. Best wishes to the family.

I was on the faculty with Jim at Pierce College. He was one of the nicest people at the school. He always had a gentle laugh and engaging smile. Since his son and my daughter were classmates, we often exchanged updates on their lives. He was very proud of his children. I am sorry to hear of his accident in Italy last May. He was such a healthy guy, too. My sincere wishes to his family.

Mr James Erickson was, for the time I knew him at CPHS 1972-1975, absolutely a wonderful teacher, man, role model. His wit and sense of humor in class and on campus was a welcome addition to my life and demonstrated that learning and developing can not only be fulfilling but fun as well. I am so sorry for his loss and the loss to his family. God makes room for souls such as his and I am sure he is in a good place. As I sit here in Riyadh and recall the time we had in this life together it brings back wonderful thoughts and memories and i thank God He let me share in some of Mr. Erickson's life.God Rest Your soul.
