Although I never had the honor of meeting Dr Fitzgerald, I was fortunate to have heard many wonderful stories about him from his son and my dear friend Brendan. My families prayers are with your family.

To my dear friends the Fitzgerald & Swallow's,

I have known you all for many many years and have visited you in Florida just about every year you've been there and have always looked forward to the family gatherings with Big Jim and Marcla. They were always filled with great fun, conversation good old fashion irish libations! We Brennan's hold you all in our hearts during this sad time and wish we were closer to give that hug when you need one!

Much love to you all. XXOOO

Jimmy will be missed very much. So many times I think of a funny thing he used to say or do. Jimmy looked at the world like no one else. He knew more than anyone else. He was so generous and fun loving. Things were never dull if Jimmy was around!

He will be loved always, "Moon Mullins"

Big Jim- being my Father in-law is not really a be-fitting title for you . In my mind Poppy, you are my Father in-heart. For as long as I have known you and from the many people I have met, that knew you before, you were a wonderful person with a heart of gold. You always gave of yourself and expected nothing in return. Your inquisitive mind brought you great wisdom and knowledge which you shared with all of us. So many words characterize you: caring, helpful, concerned, thoughtful, strong, intelligent, wise, guiding, humble, truthful (in many cases, for all to hear " this is a tear down"), and finally, love - the love for you and the love you gave to all whom you were close to you.

Your whole family is lucky that you fell in love with Grandma. As you, and we all know, Marcla was your lifeline and you were her blessing. From the outside looking in - you are soul mates. Thank you for being so wise in choosing such a wonderful person.

Your daughter loves you so very much! As you have always said to Dolly & I "You make great children". Well so do you! Your daughter is my soul mate for life and I thank you for bringing her into the world for Sarah, James, __, and I. We will cherish and love her forever. Thanks Big Jim!

Your sons all loved and respected you. They turned out to be my greatest friends and allies in life. Thanks so much Poppy!

James & Sarah think the world of you and it will never be the same without you. Coming to see you was the highlight of their day. They had such love and regard for you Poppy. I guess this is an extended game of hide and seek: but we know you are hiding in heaven and we will eventually find you. Thanks Poppy!

You and your family were a medicinal blessing during my Mother's illness and the family you created will always be an unmeasurable support to one another. Thanks Poppy for making me feel so much a part of it.

I began to know you as Dr. Fitzgerald, which lead to Big Jim, which lead to Father In-law, which lead to Poppy, which lead to a Father In-heart.

I will always love you, miss you, and be guided by you .

See you around the campus.

Love,

Your Son In-Heart.

Hi Marcia: We just got word from my sister Mary in West Hartford about Jimmy's passing away. I am just so saddened by the news I am in tears.

Why didn't we get together at least one more time. We were such close, dear friends. I cannot believe it.

I know you too must be devasted and plese give our sympathies to the children. This is a very awkward way to express our saddness but it is the most expedient as we thought you still lived in Naples. Ray and Elaine.
