James Forehand Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 29, 2025.
James "Jim" Orem Forehand Jr., 61, of Corinth, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 24, 1963, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jim was the beloved son of James and Loretta Forehand. He pursued his education with determination and pride, earning a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, formerly known as Corpus Christi State University. He acquired an extensive background in IT. He later went on to earn his Master's degree in Business Administration furthering a career that would span nearly three decades.

Jim dedicated 28 years of his professional life to Tenet Healthcare, where he served as

Sr. Director, Financial Applications - IS (information system). His leadership and commitment left a lasting impact on colleagues and the organization alike. Jim established long lasting relationships that were very important to him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim's greatest joy came from being a devoted father to his daughter, Lindsay Grace, born a day before his 36th birthday, and truly the best gift he ever received. Their bond was deep and filled with shared passions, especially their love for food. As true foodies, Jim and Lindsay spent countless hours cooking together and exploring new culinary experiences. They also shared a love for music and adventure, attending concerts and traveling widely to create cherished memories. Jim had made it a family goal to see all 50 states, and he made it happen.

Jim had an adventurous spirit and zest for life. He loved traveling-often venturing across state lines just to watch his favorite baseball team, the Texas Rangers. A loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys as well, sports were a constant source of excitement in his life. In earlier years, he enjoyed bodybuilding and cycling. He trained many miles while living in Abilene, Texas, and completed the Hotter 'N Hell in Wichita Falls, a 100-mile bike ride. He also enjoyed gardening, all activities that reflected both his discipline and appreciation for nature.

His faithful dog, Dot, was never far from his side. Whether it was truck rides through town or camping trips under the stars, Jim made sure Dot was part of every adventure-always stopping for her favorite treat: pup cups.

Jim is survived by his ex-wife of 29 years, Grace Forehand, his loving daughter Lindsay Grace Forehand Rathburn and her husband Morgan; his parents James and Loretta Forehand; his brother TJ Forehand and wife Junea; as well as nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his brother and best friend Timothy Wayne Forehand and by his brother-in-law Chris Friscia.

Those who knew Jim will remember him as funny, intelligent, generous and always ready for an adventure. His presence brought warmth to every room he entered-a joy to be around whose memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Jim will be greatly missed today, tomorrow, and forever. Always in our thoughts-forever in our hearts. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Parish in the Chapel on August 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM - 180 Samuel Blvd. Coppell, Texas, 75019. Reception to follow immediately after mass. Please wear Texas Rangers or Dallas Cowboys colors - red white and blue; Sunday best.

A private Final Blessing will be held at Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Coppell.

I only knew Jim for a year, but he made a great and lasting impression in my. He supported my small business and I prayed for him daily. In the last month of his life he was still sharing cancer resource information with me to use to help my sister-in-law. What a gentle, kind, and loving soul he is! He departed us too soon. Prayers and condolences to all the family.

Grace, Lindsay, Mrs. Loretta and family, we are deeply sorry to have to say our, for now, goodbyes to Jim. We have nothing but life lasting memories and appreciation for Mr. Jim. I can sit here and outline all the things that God in his greatest glory, placed your family in our path and both together, helped lead my children through catechism by not only taking them or bringing them back, but but teaching them the path to receiving the Holy Eucharist for the first time. Also gracing them by being their sponsors. God will take that and many other selfless actions into account as he travels the road to the glory of heaven. Jim, may your soul rest in eternal peace. Thank you for all your love and kindness towards my and the many other families that were blessed with your acts of kindness. Rest in peace.
