James Frank Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 7, 2023.
James A. Frank, 60, of Colebrook, Ohio passed away unexpectedly following a motorcycle accident on October 25, 2023 in Greene Township, Ohio. He was born in Euclid, Ohio on July 23, 1963 to George and Patricia Frank. Jim grew up in Richmond Heights, Ohio where he loved to ride his dirt bike with his best friends. He was really great at wheelies. He attended Mayfield High School where he studied auto mechanics in their vocational program and graduated from Richmond Heights High School in 1981.

Jim is survived by his former girlfriend Teresa Skufca and their sons Nicholas (Megan) Frank and Jason Frank, and his estranged wife Amy and their sons Kayden Frank, Kylen Frank, and Bradyn; grandchildren Mackenzie and Jayce Frank; brothers Kenneth Frank and Richard (Vicki) Frank; sisters Diane Frank and Cynthia (Timothy) Pokorny, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many close and beloved friends. He is preceded in death by his father George W. Frank and mother Patricia Wilson Frank.

Jim was a skilled mechanic working for several companies throughout Northeast Ohio. He had a wealth of knowledge when it came to working on cars and motorcycles. Through the course of his career, he had earned a variety of GMC certifications.

His true passion was riding and racing motorcycles. The freedom he felt on his bike was a feeling he readily shared with his friends. He loved nothing more than riding on two wheels; he never missed an opportunity to go riding and participate in drag racing events with his friends. The need for freedom and speed was where he felt most at ease. His audacious racing skills had won him several trophies throughout his lifetime.

Always wearing a smile, Jim was truly an extraordinary person, living life to the fullest. He formed many cherished friendships, and he was surrounded by people that loved him unconditionally. The friends he made at Colebrook Lounge quickly became family. Those that knew him called him "Girlfriend Jim"; his memory will always remain a part of his friends and their moments together forever cherished. His laugh will always be heard, and his life will always be remembered. Having a friend like him is what the heart needs.

Jim's most recent adventure had been sharing the road with friends on a trip to Hocking Hills, stopping along the way at the Motorcycle Memorial, which is dedicated to lost brothers & sisters in Hopedale, Ohio. A brick in Jim's name to honor his memory will be placed Memorial Day weekend. May he ride in peace.

A celebration of life for Jim will be held at Colebrook Community Center, 682 US-322, Orwell, OH 44076 at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023. A private interment of Jim's ashes will be at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Hts., Ohio at a later date.

Girlfriend, Roger, and sandy were out riding and stopped by for a cookout. We sat and chatted laughed and ate. We were all done and girlfriend Jim had half his food left and I said I have never seen someone eat so slow. He turned and looked at me big smile on his face and said...Not slow just enjoying every bite. We had a great time talking laughing sharing stories and of course eating. You will be missed.
