As a college graduate I knocked on the stock brokerage firm of Hayden Miller with some questions about the brokerage business and Jim came to greet me. He took me out to lunch and to his home for dinner with his lovely wife Chris and him. There is no way in the world I can picture Jim without that gigantic smile. We laughed, played tennis and got together many times. His smile and personality was bigger than life itself. He was my stock broker but I thought of as just as wonderful friend. He was also an analyst with Hayden Miller, researching future companies that Hayden Miller may wish to promote. One time I ask Jim, "How do you really analyze a company". He said, "I of course, look at all of the numbers and percentages to do with the company but my main goal is to get to know the personality of the principals of these companies and then make my decision". He said Jay, I am a believer that genuine people have the best chance to do great things in growing a company. I will miss my friend.

Utah Beach... how brave and dedicated you were! Thank you for your service to our country. It breaks my heart to see these outstanding individuals from the Greatest Generation, men and women from battles fought for our freedom, pass on. May you rest in peace, Mr. Halls. Thank you.

Sincere condolences on the loss of your father. We knew Jim since the mid 80's when we started investing in the stock market. He was a warm, caring individual who was as glad as you were if an investment did well. Instead of meeting at his office for a stock trade/sale he would always meet you for lunch at various restaurants around his Pepper Pike office. We missed him when he retired and moved near Cincinnati.

We called him Grandpa Halls. Jill remembers when she was little how Grandpa would "SLIP" her money when we visited and he continued that with Rachel. Our family ties with Grandpa started long ago when he was my dad's financial adviser. I was so happy to have spent his "100th birthday" with him in March of 2020.
