I met Dr. Harmon when he was retired and yet still came to Children's Medical Services to do a pediatric clinic. I was one of the nurses who did his clinic with him. He would come see our kids with a canoe on the top of his car and then head out for the afternoon of canoeing. He was awesome to work with, respected nurses and always listened to us and the parents. Later on I would see him at church and talk to him. I remember visiting with a group of church kids, at Carpenters and seeing him sitting in the hall with his wife holding her hand, they were so sweet, and i thought I want to be like that. I know he is heaven now holding her hand. I missed seeing him when he could no longer come to church. He will be missed but I know that the angels have a new angel. Prayers for his family. Your dad and grandfather was an awesome man.

Dr. Harmon was my pediatrician in the early 50's in Knoxville. He and Dr. Jenkins took turns seeing me or making house calls. I liked him the most. Always got a comic book.

My sympathy to the family. Take comfort knowing that God Almighty is 'near to all those calling on him.'

Few people have so focused their attention on their conversation with me as Dr. Harmon. It's remarkable to be listened to so well. He had a gentle, full-loving spirit.

I'm so sorry for your loss but what a long life Dr. Harmon was blessed with. He was my daughter's Dr. when she was born and she's now 38 years old. He was a wonderful Dr.
