TAZEWELL, Va. — James Kerrigan “Cat” Koger Sr., age 60, of Tazewell, Va., passed away Friday, February 29, 2008 at his home.Born September 27, 1947 at Welch, W.Va., he was a son of the late Charles and Marguerite Koger. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Koger was a 1966 graduate of Big Creek High School and president of his class. He was a retired coal miner having worked 26 years for Consolidation Coal Company at Bishop and Amonate mines, and the last several years at Detroit Edison (DTE) in Pineville, W.Va. He was a member of the UMWA.He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, JoAnn Koger; one son, James K. Koger Jr. and wife, Michele; two grandchildren, Josh and Katie Koger all of Cedar Bluff, Va.; one brother, Richard Koger and wife, Sandra of Squire, W.Va.; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Peery and St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Rev. Kenny Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens at Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be family and friends.The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Monday), March 3, 2008 from 6-9 p.m.To leave personal condolences online, visit www.legacy.com
