Preceded in death by his parents Edward and Anna Lavin.
Survived by his wife Eugenia Turner and his children, Mark Edward (Brenda), James P. (Stella), Timothy and Cecilia Mahugh (Mark). Grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of five.
Visitation: Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 6 – 8 PM at the Fairhaven Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 11:00am in the Fairhaven Chapel.
Interment: Little Ogeechee Baptist Church, Oliver, GA.

James was a good friend during my time at Georgia Pacific Hardwood Mill. I don't remember him ever seeming to have a bad day. Always pleasant with nice things to say. His work reflected pride in what he was doing; always legible, dotted I's and crossed the t's - always knew exactly what he wanted. My condolences to the family.
