James Lee McCredie

SPARTANBURG, SC-- James Lee McCredie, age 75, died unexpectedly December 24, 2008.
Jimmy was the husband of Renee Huston McCredie, and the son of the late Claude Aubrey and Caryl Lee Trippe McCredie. He was a graduate of Carlisle Military Academy and the University of South Carolina. Jimmy honorably served his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force. He was co-founder of Fiber and Yarn Associates and retired as President of MCC International. Jimmy was an avid golfer and enjoyed his lifelong tenure with the Spartanburg Country Club. He was a charter member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church and was a lifetime member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent. Lovingly referred to as "Big Moe", Jimmy counted a great many friends within Spartanburg society.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, Jimmy was predeceased by a son, Jamie who departed this life, April 29, 1992. He is survived by a son, Glenn and his children, Ashley and Michael of West Palm Beach, FL.; his daughter, Lynn and her husband, Billy, and their children, William and his fiancé, Rebekah, Lee and Jamie Cribb all of Spartanburg and Kenneth Cribb of Wilmington, DE; one great-grandson, Hayden Cribb of Spartanburg; and a brother, Roger W. and Linda McCredie of Asheville, NC.
Jimmy will be laid to rest in the presence of family in the Oakwood Cemetery. A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at The Episcopal Church of the Advent conducted by the Rev. Roy W. Cole, III.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Advent, 141 Advent St., Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to the charity of one's choice.
The family will be at the home of Lynn and Billy Cribb, 211 Swansea Road, Spartanburg.
