Dear Joann & Suzanne,
We just recently learned of Jim's "passing" and wanted to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim was remarkable and unforgetable person, a loving and devoted husband and father. There is an old Irish Prayer: May your neighbors respect you, Trouble neglect you, The angels protect you, And heaven accept you! This is Jim's legacy and we pray it for you. Sean said he is sure God "rolled out the red carpet" for him. God love you.

To Dr. Rehak's family and staff,
I knew when my girls sat down in his chair, that we were lucky enough to find someone extra special. It was clearly evident that Dr. Rehak thoroughly enjoyed his work, and took great pride in improving the smiles of his patients. Our daughter's Erin and Leandra looked forward to their visits, and I feel very fortunate to have known him for the small time that we had. I'm sure he knows how much he is loved, and will be missed.
Sincerely,
Amanda, Bob, Erin, and Leandra Lambert

To Dr. Rehak's Family: We were so surprised when our daughter called to schedule her next appointment and learned that he had recently passed. He was an excellent Orthodontist with great chairside manners for our daughter who was a patient of his for over seven years. She looked forward to her appointments because he made her feel special by telling her that she was his "model patient" who properly followed directions with a smile--not a whimper. He was a kind and gentle man with lots of wisdom and wit. We always liked seeing his family pictures prominently displayed, especially the one with Pope John Paul II, which made us feel comfortable and right at home. This time it will feel different for her going to that office without him there--just not the same. He dedicated his life to his work and his family; it was evident how much he loved you! Life is short, and I'm sorry that he did not get the opportunity to retire and spend lots more years together with you. We feel so sad for your family. The Howards

To Dr. Rehak's family and dearest friends.
He was a kind and caring man as I was his patient in the late 1990's. He not only helped my TMJ, he cured it. He went out of his way when I was having some serious dental problems. He took time out to help me. We went over x-rays and gave me the only answer that made any sense. He will be greatly missed. Sincerely, Stephanie J. Whitney

Dr. Rehak has treated my son, Dalton, for the last two years. I enjoyed having my son around him not only for his professional talents, but because even in the smallest chit chat, his values and integrity came through - he was an outstanding role model. We will miss seeing him each month. Our prayers are with your family.

Dear Joann and Suzanne,
You honored your husband and father so beautifully yesterday. I have no doubt in my mind that he was looking down from heaven and beaming with pride.
My favorite memories of Jim was when I would be talking to Joann and she would be so bubbly and happy. I would look at Jim and tell him how wonderful she was. He would look at her with love, smile and watch her keep on talking. He knew he had someone special in his life. He still does and always will. He is with you always Joann and Suzanne. As you so beautifully said last night Suzanne, watch for the signs.
Love to you both,
Elisabeth Spellberg

My wife and both of our children (now adults with their own children) were patients of Dr. Rehak, and they always spoke so kindly of him. He was the finest orthodontist in Naples. He had what you don't hear nowadays ... a wonderful "bedside manner." God bless him and our deepest sympathies to his family.

My brother and I went to Dr Rehak as young children and also as adults. He was always so friendly and you could sense that he truly cared about you and your well being. Even seeing him just a few months ago at a meeting away from his offices he says "Hi Joy, how are you doing?? Are the kids well??" Even out of the element of his offices he remembered me and my family. A true man of true faith and love. You will be missed.

Joann and Suzanne, our heartfelt sympathy of the passing of Jim. I will always remember bringing the children to your house on Halloween and Jim passing out toothbrushes instead of candy...loved it as a parent! Jim gave our 3 children beautiful smiles as well. I have had a greeting card in my stash of cards that I always meant to send to Jim with the face of a goofy kid on the front in braces and said "Thanks for straightening me out!" So THANKS, JIM for straightening them out as well as your and your family friendship over the many years.

Jim treated our son as a father and we know that John loved him very much. This made us very comfortable knowing that he had such support from a well rounded, respected member of the community as a mentor and guide. Not only will he be missed by those that knew him and loved him, but by people such as us, whose lives he touched in such loving ways. Our family wishes the best for his family, which our son became a part. We are so sorry for your loss and offer our most sincere condolences.

While I try to find comfort in knowing Dr. Rehak did not suffer and now he is with Him, I am still so sad that I will not see his smile again. We grew so close in our conversations while I was his patient this last year and a half. Afterall, I do believe I was his oldest patient hence the bond. He sure loved his family, my prayers are with you.

We will miss Jim and his smile. May he rest in peace in Heaven with J.P and Peter.

You've been our Dr. and friend for 17 years. You gave my children beautiful smiles and watched them grow into beautiful adults. We could talk forever, about Palatine, Dr Johns-your friend who did my braces 33 years ago. My kids would say don't talk so much we'll never get out of there. I enjoyed our talks.
You have such a beautiful office, your girls are like visiting old girlfriends. Their was always so much laughter. The world was better with you in it. I know you are in heaven and are smiling on us. Thank you for everything. YOu are already missed.

Jim Rehak was a man of integrity who was devoted to his family, individuals, the Catholic faith and the Beatitudes. He saw the sacredness in each and every individual. His generosity helped educate hundreds of children and his keen intelligence was seen as a beacon of reason and an instrument of hope. A family man, a devout Catholic, an extremely competent professional, and a gracious philanthropist is how I will remember Jim. The compassion, leadership, and understanding, which we were all accustomed to receiving from him, will be missed.
