Dear friends - thank you all so much for your condolences and kind words. Mary Rose your flowers were beautiful. Ricky - Allegheny Co. Dist Justices as well as the entire Association made Jimmy proud to be a member. (I will miss the annual conferences) I always thought Jimmy was the best at what he did -but thru these last few weeks I also learned how many, many people and lives he touched.
Kelli and I will never forget the overwhelming support we received from friends and community.

Judge Russo was a fine man and a well known leader among Pennsylvania's district justices. We, his many friends and colleagues, will greatly miss him. His special leadership abilities cannot be replaced.

Jimmy was a friend to all. When I moved to Sewickley in 1959 and became a "member" of his Aunt Yolanda's family I also became a good friend of "Ducky". We were friends for many years. I moved to Cincinnati but was fortunate enough to see Jimmy throughout the years. He will never be forgotten. My condolences to his entire extended family. Charlene

My prayers go out to the family of Jimmy. I worked with Jimmy when I was 18 and formed many of my strong work and personal ethics based on his freindship and guidence. More than anything Jim was a good person who cared. I am proud that he gave me chance for a future.

My deepest sympathy to all the members of the Russo family. During my 31 years as a police officer it was my great fortune to bring cases before Jim. We have lost a true champion of justice.

The people have suffered a great loss with the death of Judge Russo. I admire Jim for all his accomplishments in life. Judge Russo never forgot where he came from nor the fraility of the people who stood before him. He went the extra mile and helped the people overcome their brush with the law and did not fear punishing those who had no respect for the law.

I called Jimmy not long ago to see how he was and the excitment in his voice that my simple phone call caused made me cry. Jimmy was my cousin and we were raised together. My sisters and I were like their own sisters. Jimmy especially was very protective of us and checked out anyone we dated. I can't imagine my life without this loving, wonderfull, caring person in it. I will miss him but am glad he was part of my life.

I knew Jimmy throughout my life. He was a good friend of my Father's (Ed O'Neill). I received one speeding ticket in my life from a Bell Acres Police Officer when I was 19. I stood in front of Jimmy and when he seen that I only had one ticket and I was an O'Neill he was amazed. He dismissed the charges and told me never to appear infront of him again. I never did. He was a great man an will be missed deeply. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends.

Thursday mornings in court will be tedious without Jimmy's humor to liven things up.
