James Snodgrass Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 13, 2024.
James "Jim" (Snag) E. Snodgrass, age 69, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, at Sturgill Hospice House in Brooksville, Florida. Jim, son of Clyde Richard Snodgrass and Josephine Ann DiCalogero, was born at the Corona Naval Base in San Diego, California on March 16, 1955. Born to a Marine officer and an Italian stay-at-home mom, Jim lived in multiple locales before his family moved to the Philadelphia suburbs where he attended Archbishop John Carrol High School and graduated in 1973 with a group of lifelong friends.

He is survived by his wife Christine; children Clyde Snodgrass (Kelly), Tampa, FL, Stephanie Bartek (Mark), Pace, FL, James Snodgrass (Candice), Huntsville, AL, and stepdaughter Hope Bain, Spring Hill, FL; sisters, Teresa Stetson (Fred), Salisbury, MD, and Mary Studzinski (Gerry), York, PA; grandchildren Tyler Dixon, Kennedy Snodgrass, and Taylor Snodgrass; and multiple nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Elizabeth Zuberer.

Jim was a talented and gifted tradesman throughout his life. He owned his own business, worked in sales, held local, public office, and shared his love of carpentry and design. He will be most remembered for his incredible kindness and his smile. He had a great sense of humor, and he never met a stranger. Jim loved the Lord and knew his Bible. He was an incredible father, husband, brother, and son. He loved his mom, learning to cook under her guidance, and carried his love of cooking throughout his life, always creating new dishes and experimenting. He lived his life to the fullest, never took himself seriously and enjoyed the gift of each day. Jim loved to spend time with family and friends and is gone too soon. He leaves a legacy of joy and hope - "Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not."

Memorial services are planned for St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Methuen, Massachusetts. Details to be shared with family and friends when they are finalized.

My deepest sympathies to the family. He was always a very dear friend. We didn´t talk always, but when we did we didn´t miss a beat. Prayers to you all.

Never heard Jim say an unkind word about anyone. Comfort in knowing he is with the Lord.
