James H. Stewart Jr. "Jimmy", 70, of Fort Lauderdale FL, passed away on Monday May 22, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He is born of James H. Stewart Sr and Valeria Stewart. He is survived by his wife Paula Stewart, his daughters Cindy Higgins, Christina Rodriguez, Gabrielle Mooney, and his son Matthew Stewart, his grandchildren Alexzander Faryniak, Elias Avila, and D'Angelo Rodriguez. His brother John Stewart and sister Sandy Dolan.

A POEM FOR DADDY

He was a jack of all trades and a master of many, he was a son, a father, a brother, and a hubby. He was a man of God, though he struggled, he always knew how to make people chuckle. He loved to teach lessons, and tell funny stories, but most of all he saw all of Gods glories. He had three daughters, a son, and always knew his wife Paula's the one. His life was a roller-coaster, and he knew how to have fun, we can't forget all the times.... he called us honey bun.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
Eulogy - Jimmy Stewart
Our Brother Jimmy, James Herbert Stewart Jr - Was born to James and Valieria Stewart, July 15, 1952. He was the first of five children, three brothers and a sister. Jimmy was a happy and playful child. He had blonde hair and wore a flat top or crew cut hair cut for a long time. He let his hair grow long as a teenager.
Jimmy was a loving and generous father and loved all his children dearly.
He was a dedicated and loving husband to Paula for more than forty-five years. He raised three wonderful daughters and a son who he taught to love and cherish life.
Jimmy always had a good sense of humor; he was fun loving and adventurous.
When we were little kids, we would often tease each other and see who could outwit the other. Jimmy went to eat lunch with Grandma and a couple of her Spanish speaking friends. He learned that his name in Spanish was "Jaime".
When he came home, he said in a sort of sheepish manner "My name in Spanish is Jamie". I started laughing and was pointing at him saying Jamie-Hiney, Jaime-Hiney. Then he says "You think that´s funny, guess what your name is in Spanish? I said what? He said "Wheemy". He got the best of me that day.
Jimmy had a thing about adventure...and he often involved me in his adventures, and we frequently did stuff we were not supposed to do.
Jimmy had a guilty conscious and would usually tell on himself. Getting the two of us in trouble.
We lived in Ives estates, and we had freedom to go a lot of places in that subdivision, but were not allowed to cross over Highway 9, 12th Avenue or go past the school. Well Jimmy decides we are going to
ride our bikes to Greynolds Park about 5 miles away. We rode our bikes with a couple other friends to the park, had a blast, riding our bikes down these little hills into the pond. When we got home, it seemed like no one missed us. We were in the clear.... Then Jimmy asks Mom, "are me and Johnny allowed to ride our bikes to Greynolds Park?" Mom says no, absolutely No! Jimmy says "Oh! ... now you tell us". We got sent to our room.
Jimmy learned to drive at an early age and loved go-carts, minibikes, cars, motorcycles, and anything that went fast.
His love for speed nearly got the best of him a number of times. As he had been in several serious automobile and motorcycle accidents and walked away with only minor injuries. One time he wrapped a car around a large oak tree demolishing the car. He most certainly had guardian angles watching over him.
Jimmy was a very talented person and liked to work with his hands. He was a self-taught mechanic and could repair just about anything. He was an excellent welder. Built his own dune buggy from scrap metal and an old volks wagon. If you have ever been to Miami Metro Zoo, you would have seen the cages he built for the animals. He was also artistically creative and welded brass & copper into beautiful fine art sculptures. I still have an airplane he made for me.
His design skills started at a young age. As a Teen, he redesigned Grandpa´s old hi-fi console record player for our sister Sandy. He painted it, put a flashing police light on top, a strobe light inside it along with a black light. It would light up the entire room while playing records. Sandy´s friends thought that was the coolest invention ever.
Later he became a Master carpenter. And designed and built custom cabinets and showcases for major department stores such as Macys.
Jimmy was filled with love, compassion and understanding for other people. When our brother Tommy´s health declined & caused mobility issues, Jimmy built a concrete ramp and installed a chair lift for him. He helped our brother David during his time of need.
Jimmy was a wonderful person, always helping people from the goodness of his heart. He never expected anything in return.
When our loved ones pass away from us, it is these memories that keep them alive in our hearts and in our minds.
When Dad passed away, our brother Tommy said... "Dad´s soul may be in heaven, but his spirit is still here on earth".
And so it is with Jimmy, that he is in heaven, but his spirit is still here on earth. Living inside his children and his grandchildren and all those who knew him.
Jimmy´s soul may be in Heaven, but his spirit...Is still here on Earth

Jimmy was a very nice person to be around. His love for his family was evident. He will be missed and always remembered fondly. We pray for God´s peace for the family until they meet again in heaven.

Daddy was so adventurous and loved the outdoors. He Always took us to the beach almost every weekend to go snorkeling and kayaking and he would take us to the park to ride our bikes. He always knew how to have fun and make us laugh with his jokes and stories. He taught me a lot of things like how to build things, how to work on cars, how to do drywall and tile and even duct work lol. He had me, chrissy and Matthew crawling around the attic to install all the duct work when we got our first central air unit because he couldn't maneuver up there very well. He even put a huge hole in the ceiling when he slipped between the beams, ah the good old days when he always created more work on projects because he was clumsy and broke things every time we worked on them. I have so many great memories with him and I'll always be a daddy's girl.

When we were kids growing up in Miami, uncle Jimmy and aunt Deedee would visit us. I always loved Jimmy junior´s smile and that touch of mischief he had. Such fond memories we all have. Condolences from cousin Linda Stewart Hogue, Birmingham, AL.

While I will miss my best friend in this human life, while my life remains here on earth, I know my dad is in a better place than we can possibly imagine. Thank you for everything you´ve taught me, for all the stories and fun times. I love you dad and will miss you all of my days!
