It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of James Ray Stout on February16, 2023 with his wife of 49 years, Sherry by his side. James is survived by his wife, Sherry; three children, Jamie, Forrest and Leanna (Gerrod); two grandchildren, Raymond and Benjamin. Parents Forrest and Betty Stout;sister Carol Willey (Jack) As well as a host of family and friends he enjoyed sharing a drink and a laugh with. James was born in Akron, Ohio January 3, 1948. He briefly lived in Chicago, Illinois before meeting his wife, Sherry Marshall. The two were married on May 19, 1973 and moved to Homes Beach, Florida. After moving to Florida, he worked in many managerial positions at various companies. He retired from General Electric after several years of service as welder. James was a rock of a man- stronger than most knew and battled far beyond anyone could have imagined. His determination allowed him to experience his greatest joy in life-being called “Papa Jim” by his grandchild, Ben and nothing put a bigger smile on James’ face than discussing Boy Scouts, God, a game of chess and education with him. The family would like to thank Tidewell Hospice for their support and compassion. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Charitable donations can be made in James Stout’s name to Manatee County Little League. Condolences may be made to www.brownandsonsfuneral.com.
