Jim had a gentle spirit and a big heart. I was blessed to be your friend and will never forget you. I remember coming to stay for a few days on your blueberry farm...our long talks together meant so much. You were a wonderful man who left behind so many good memories. You will always be missed.

Many nights Paul J. and myself would be on the way to a meeting and along the way we would find Jim walking to the meeting. Jim would climb in my car and the three of us would joke and kid and laugh our way to the club. They say laughter is the greatest medicine for the soul. Thankyou Blueberry Jim for the healing you brought to our souls. Rest in peace my friend.

Farewell to a lovely, kind man who seemed to care for all that mattered, especially his friends.
When I went down to see Doug, Jim would be so cordial and accomodating. And of course always bid you goodbye with a big bag of blueberries. I know Jim and Doug shared many good stories and dinners together and we will both miss him very much. Rest in peace and God Bless you, Jim.

It is difficult to bid farwell to a dear friend but I am blessed with fond memories of Jim. He proved to be a stand up friend indeed, when I was in need, and I won't soon forget his many acts of kindness to me. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word and was always willing to share and care with others.

Looking back over the photos I have of Jim, brings back so many good memories. I will cherish them for years to come. One time in particular Doug and I were working for Jim out on his Blueberry farm trying to get some work done. But Jim kept bring out coffee, cookies and other stuff, wanting us to eat as he sat under a near by tree supervising. I will remember Jim as a very easy going, kind big hearted person. Jim was always giving away blueberries. That’s how I became to know him as blueberry Jim. The name just stuck with him. Jim once asked how one becomes an old timer. Jim, now you’re an old time in the big meeting in the sky.

What can we say about our friend Jim (Blueberry Jim), we were fortunate to be present at his first meeting when his son Norm brought him to the place that gave him back his life and have spent many days and Christmas's with him, and he spoke of his family with much love, his sense of humour was one and only, and he helped out alot of people and touched many lives, and now we know he is with the big boy upstairs and waiting for us to make it there and sign up on his group, we loved you Jim and still do and though we are not together physically we will always be spiritually, god bless the family as you all were part of his being and loved by him immensley, love in the fellowship your friends Vera & Paul

Words can not express the sorrow I feel at losing such a dear friend. Jim always had a big hug & a cheerful smile for me. I couldn’t walk by him without him saying “Where’s my hug girl”. He would call me his girlfriend, as he did with all the young & old a like, that he flirted with. Jim was a bit of a comedian at times too, always trying to crack a joke or two. He made me laugh & smile. Jim was one of the people I could count on to be at the annual picnic every year. He was always willing to help out when ever he could. Jim was a fun loving, gentle, caring soul. He was quite & proud too. It was an honor to know him and call him my friend. I will truly miss you Blueberry Jim.
Love always

Hi Norm, Nancy, John & Family's
Jim was so proud of each of you, and the grandchildren were his pride and joy. Another of his passion's was his farm.
He often talked about his memories of mom and Resource when he came to visit. Jim went to school at Jones and one of his jobs was to stoke the fire in the morning, before school started (during the winter). He did not have far to go as we lived across the road from the school.
He was our support during my stay in Vancouver.
We will all miss his visits. My kids always looked forward to Uncle Jim coming, even if we were never too sure when he would show up.We will miss him. All our love
Larry, Sharon, Warren & Janice, Brent & Edie, Rob & Amy, Kendra.
