James Charles Waldon

El Cajon, California October 28, 1948-May 6, 2024

James C. Waldon (a.k.a Chuck) was born on October 28, 1948, in Kansas City, MO. Son of James Cecil and Ida Grace Waldon. James graduated from Center High School in Kansas City, MO in 1966. Shortly after graduating Chuck found work as a mechanical draftsman, eventually working for Pratt and Whitney. Chuck would go on to work as a professional electrician and proudly spent decades as an IBEW union electrician. Chuck retired as an IBEW member in 2020.

Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Joan, in October of 1968. Chuck and Joan had two daughters, Angela and Abby Waldon. While raising his young family Chuck pursued many interests and developed various skills. He had an avid interest in aviation and at one point he had a single engine airplane which he thoroughly enjoyed flying and working on. Chuck also excelled at repairing and rebuilding classic muscle cars, he especially treasured his yellow 1970 corvette. A lifelong hobby that Chuck shared with his daughter, Angela, was fishing. In the later years of his life Chuck found great joy and fulfillment in gardening.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ida, brother Franklin Waldon, and sister Marilyn Smith. He is survived by sister, Peggy Waldon, daughters Angela and Abby Waldon, wife Helen, stepson Doug Rich Jr, countless friends, and his family in the IBEW.
