James Wilson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 3, 2024.
James "Jim" D. Wilson, 72, of Northwood, NH, passed away unexpectedly in a car accident on July 30, 2024. Born on February 6, 1952, in Exeter, NH, Jim was known for his humor, stubbornness, kindness, and a knack for fixing anything, earning him the nickname "MacGyver." He was deeply committed to his family and community.

Jim graduated from CBNA in 1970 and soon began his career at Thomas Well Drilling as a well driller, a position he held for ten years. He then transitioned to working for the Town of Northwood, where he took great pride in being a road agent and achieving the status of a Master Road Scholar, dedicating over 25 years to the town.

An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and cutting wood. He also had a passion for tinkering and was a devoted fan of the Red Sox, rarely missing a game.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandy Wilson; daughter, Michelle Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Autumn (Enman) Wilson; brother, Norm Wilson; sister, Nancy (Wilson) Tasker; granddaughter, Brianna Raffles; and nephews, Lance Tasker and his wife, Becca, and Joe Tasker. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Evelyn (Chase) Wilson.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Northwood at 10am on August 6, 2024. Immediately following the service, a celebration of life will take place at the Northwood Community Center located at 135 Main St Northwood, NH 03261. Jim's life and legacy will be honored and remembered by all who knew him.

Sandy..... When Betty told me about Jims passing, at the pantry, I had to sit down to let it sink in. I am so sorry for your loss, and please fee free to contact me if you need anything. I have plenty of free time on my hands and will be happy to drive you someplace if you need a ride. I'm going to miss your applesauce this year because my trees are on strike and didn't give me any apples. Betty said there was a big turnout at the service today, and that should make you feel good too... Hang in there....Bill Hill

Growing up we always looked up to Jimmy. He was there at the family farm, coming out to see us when we were sliding on the "Pasture Hill" on the power lines. I saw him a bit as I was working on their house they built with Chip Belyea, his cousin. But he was that older kid to me, I assumed he never really wanted to be around us because of the age difference. My thoughts and feelings will be of his family, both immediate and extended through this time.
