AFFLECK, Jamie Benjamin
1979 - 2018
Jamie passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Jamie lived passionately for 38 years, and battled cancer courageously for the last three. He never complained and found the best in every day.
Jamie leaves behind his loving wife of 15 years, Monica; their three precious children, Felicity, Finn and Forrest; parents, Mary and Lavern Affleck; siblings, Kent (Katrina) Affleck, Crystal (Larry) Livingston, Tyson Affleck, Dustin (Alicia) Affleck, and Wade (Lindsay) Affleck; Father and Mother-in-law, Derwin (Judy) Massey; brothers-in-law, Scott (Vanessa) Massey, and Kirby (Dixie) Massey and Grandma, Ruth (Mel) Hoecherl. Jamie will be dearly missed by his 16 nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, and a very large group of special friends. Jamie was predeceased by his grandfather, Hartley Affleck; and grandparents, Jim and Mary Graham.
Jamie was a remarkable husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a unique zest for life that affected all who came in contact with him. Jamie had a love for God that added depth and meaning to all aspects of his life. Although Jamie's passing leaves a very big hole in our hearts and lives, he would want us all to push forward and make the most of every day.
Jamie's Memorial Service will be Monday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Park, 5100-41 Ave, Stony Plain, AB. Private burial with family and close friends to follow.
Donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.

On behalf of the Edmonton FireFighters Memorial Society, please accept our condolences on Jamie's passing.
Please know that he will be missed greatly. I had the pleasure of working with Jamie for a few years prior to his leaving the department. Jamie was the type of firefighter who was always willing to lend a hand and was a great mentor for a junior guy like myself at the time.
We want to give your family time to grieve your loss but if you could please mark Sunday September 9th 2018 on your calendar, as that will be the day of our Annual Remembrance Ceremony.
It will be the day that we remember all those members that we have lost in the past year.
It is also a very special ceremony as we have the family members of those members involved in the event itself.
It gives us all a chance to say goodbye and it helps with the closure as well.

If I could have a family member to contact me at 780-619-1564 or at [email protected] then I can get back to them and we can talk about arrangements for this years ceremony.

In closing, please accept our deepest condolences on your loss and know that Jamie will be missed.
