Dear Jedlicka Family,
I cant believe its creeping up on 11 years since Jans untimely passing. I was thinking of him today as I often do. He was a great Son, Grandson, Brother, Father, and Friend. He was a popular guy, and had many friends. Ill never forget how much he loved and missed his beloved Mother. I was with him once when he bought 2 dozen roses plus some carnations, and we stopped at her grave vault in the Allegheny cemetery. He was a loving son for sure . We stayed in that building for awhile, and Jan being Jan he made the situation happy. He filled that time with found memories that he shared with me about his Mother who I had seen but never met. Ill never forget that day I shared with Jan. It was all good just like that guy. Always smiling , always joking around with all the people he would talk with. I just hope his daughter inherited that special gene from him. And I know time doesnt heal all the pain and longing for, but I hope his Dad and Brother Jay are coping a lot better these days than they were when this sad situation happened.
R.I.P. Mr. Jan Jedlicka forever & ever my friend. I Miss You Today.

So I receive this email from the post gazette guest book and it says they are taking this offline because it's been a year!! Wow-How time flies...I stop to see you Jan when I go see my brother. When I am over my parents and come into the yard, there I see those sliding glass door on your back porch and smile because I think of you!! Still missed forever!!

DEAR JAN & JAY:
I WRONT THIS POEM YEARS AGO BUT DEDICATED IT TO KIMMY WHEN SHE PASSED AWAY. NOW I'M GOIN TO DEDICATE IT TO JAN.

"IF I NEVER"

If I never live to see tomorrow, I want you to know

Just how much I love so

If I never awake from my sleep

My heart and memories you can always keep

I loved you with my every passing breath

I wanted you to know in case of my death

I'll be the sunlight that shines in your hair

I'll be that little voice that let's you know that someone cares

If I never get to see you another day

Please remember that my love will never go away

Please think of me now and then

If I never get to see you again

In case I never get to tell you

I'm telling you now this is true

I don't want to leave but I have to go

But please always remember that I love you so

I am in a gentle blue birds song

I am now where I belong

I am in that snowflake that touches your face

I am in the rain that falls from heaven's grace

I am a whisper in the wind

But more importantly we were more then friend's

So just in case I never awake

Remember I loved you

And that I'll be with you every day break

January 15, 2009

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

FRIEND

January 15, 2009

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you hear my voice come through the music?
Would you hold it near, as it were your own?

It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they're better left unsung
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air

Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty
If your cup is full may it be again
Let it be known there is a fountain
That was not made by the hands of man

There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go, no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone

Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow

You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall, you fall alone
If you should stand, then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way, I would take you home

R I P, Jan...............

Jan and the Jedlicka family, so very sorry to hear of the untimely passing of Jan. Was shocked and saddened to hear about him. Linda and I send our most sincere and deep condolences at this time. It is always extremely difficult and unfair for a parent to outlive a child and we unfortuneately know too well how you must be feeling. I'm sorry I lost touch with you since standard closed, but life kinda gets your focus off of friendships and puts distance between us. Hope to hook up with you later to catch up on whats been happening with each other. Hope to hear from you soon. John Schoedel

Dear Jedlicka Family,
I cannot imagine what you are going through and the pain you are feeling...I am still in shock myself! I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and Jan will forever be in my heart! I will NEVER forget Jan and all of the good times had with him! He was unique-to say the least-And had a heart of gold! My memories of him are go back a long, long time...some a little fuzzier than others...but nevertheless they are memories that I will cherish. I can still hear his laugh and will never forget all the "goofy" impressions he would do,the hesterical voice mails he would leave that I would keep just to listen to so I could laugh when I was feeling down...He will be so-so missed! Hopefully he is in a better place...and find in peace in knowing he is with his beloved mother. I could go on and on as I often do...I want to end with this one last memory of Jan...We had given Jan a nickname once...NEMO...So I want to say this...I hope I will someday find NEMO again! Until then, NEMO, I will remember you always and forget you never...And to the Jedlicka Family...I am so-so sorry for your loss...You have my deepest and sincerest sympathies... Love always...Judy
