Jan Raterman Obituary
Jan Raterman, 38, of Swansea, Ill., born April 13, 1968, in Belleville, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Raterman was preceded in death by his father, James E. Raterman; and a brother, Jeffrey Raterman.
Surviving are his three sons, Terry, Jeff, and Jordan Stark; his mother, Joan M., nee Elling, Raterman of Swansea, Ill.; three brothers, Jace Raterman of Belleville, Ill., Jay Raterman of Collinsville, Ill., and Joel (Joanne) Raterman of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Jody (Russell) Judy of Swansea, Ill.; and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral: Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Monsignor James Buerster officiating. According to Mr. Raterman's wishes, cremation was held. Private family burial will take place at St. Dominic's Catholic Cemetery, Breese, Ill.

I regret I wasn't able to attend the memorial service. But I'll always have the great memories of High School and Band. We ran into each other many times through out the years and you could always count on that happy smile. My heart goes out to the family and my prayers are with you.
