Dandridge - In Loving Memory of Jane Elizabeth Eccher Barry

Jane Elizabeth Eccher Barry was born in Avon, Illinois, on June 6, 1952, and passed away at the age of 73 on July 30, 2025, at 12:51 a.m., surrounded by her family.

She had a huge heart and loved deeply. Everyone who knew her felt the quiet strength of her presence. Her laughter could fill a room along with the kindness behind her big, beautiful hazel-green eyes. She gave the best hugs, the kind that made you feel completely safe, like being wrapped in warmth and love. She touched many lives with her big, beautiful heart. For those she loved, she loved fiercely.

She was an avid reader with a curious mind, always diving into books and researching anything that sparked her interest, especially history. She loved tracing her family's story through genealogy and finding connections through generations. She enjoyed the music of the 1960s, especially the Monkees. She was an animal lover. She had an astounding memory and could remember the smallest detail. She loved deeply, lived gently, and created a close-knit family filled with love, storytelling, and adventures.

Together with her husband and best friend of 52 years, she raised two beautiful children. Her love will continue to echo through her grandson and through everyone who carries her memory forward.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Edward Barry; her children, Nicholas Edward Barry and his wife Lelani Barry, and Aislinn Michelle Barry and her partner Alicia Neira; and her grandson, Sebastian Michael Barry. She is also survived by her siblings Judy Eccher Taylor, Jim and his wife Mary Eccher, Jody Eccher, and Jennifer Eccher Reed, many nieces and nephews, and by her lifelong friend, Lonnie (Lynda) Woodring.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Bessie Baldry Gash; her father, Calvin Eccher; her mother, Sara Elizabeth Gash Eccher; and her sister, Joy Denise Eccher.

There will be a celebration of life on August 23, 2025, at 11:00 am in Avon, Illinois, at the Babbitt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Her love remains, a quiet light guiding us home.

My dear sister, I truly have no words that can make sense. None of this makese sense.

We had a wonderful childhood with wonderful parents, sibs, and our Grandma Gash. We spent many a Saturday afternoon in the kids room at the library. Gram guided our reading and what a wonderful journey it was. Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, Angel Unaware, The Diary of Anne Frank, Tom Sawyer, and so many, many more.

We spent summers camping and fishing with the folks then when autumn came, we built elaborate castles with leaves.

There is a lifetime of memories. I love you, will miss you, and will never, ever forget you. Oh Janey!!!!! <3
