Jane CLERK Obituary

April 14, 2014 – Calgary, AB
Jane Elizabeth of Calgary passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the age of 84 years. Jane was born in Hamilton, ON on October 2, 1929 to Walter William Davidson and Mary Bernadette Nash. Jane graduated from St. Mary's Hospital nursing program in 1952. She worked as a nurse, mostly in obstetrics, in Montreal, QC, Halifax, NS, and Fort McMurray, AB for over thirty years. Jane was married in Montreal in 1953 to the late James Ewart Clerk of Glasgow, Scotland. They met in Montreal, QC, and lived there as well as in Halifax as well as Fort McMurray. Jane is survived by her five children, Donald Clerk, William (Bill) Clerk, David Clerk, Heather Baird, and Frances Clerk; eight grandchildren, Anna and Shellie Clerk, Marion Fennell, Emily, Jeffrey, and Andrew Baird, and Abigail and Ellen Pauli-Clerk; and one great-grandchild Griffin Urquhart. She is also survived by her sister and brother, Cathie Nickerson of Albany, NY and Jim Davidson of Pittsburgh, PA. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Jane Clerk, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

I enjoyed meeting Jane in the Friday afternoon chat group at the library. She was a lovely soul and I am deeply sorry for her loss.
