Janeā¦
So easy to talk to
Never lacking in wisdom or advice
Played so many roles for so many people
Loved her family
Created extended families where she led
Smiled beautifully and gave the best morning greetings
Was proud of those she surrounded herself with
Always wanted to do what was best for others
Inspired people to go out of their comfort zones
Listened, and listened and listened
Spoke with such passion and elegance
Dressed sharp
Drove nice cars!
Drove fast in nice cars!!!
Committed to her beliefs
Challenged those in her presence
Brimming in confidence and wit
Enjoyed her tea, books and the simple etiquettes of life
A visionary in education
With both compassion and expectations
Helped any who crossed her path
Debated with mutual respect
Fancied travelling and lunch with friends
Adored Kenora
Cherished her children
Treasured her husband
A terrific friend and confidant
Missed everyday

Like so many in this world, I owe a great deal to Jane. I am so lucky to have worked for her! My first 5 years of teaching were golden because of her constant support, guidance and kindness. Not only did she give me my first job, she went on to hire my future husband! She was Cupid disguised as the principal of Ottewell!
Jane and I would chat most mornings as we waited for the kettle to boil for our morning tea. She always called me 'sunshine' or 'sweet pea,' and that instantly put a smile on my face. I miss her so much. I will always be grateful to her! Her legacy as an educator, mentor and friend is profound and far reaching.
My continued thoughts and deepest sympathy to her loving family.

Tom, Chrissy and Michael, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I loved Jane very much and always appreciated her humor and drive. We walked mornings for years and she kept me in stitches with her pragmatic humor. Although we did not see much of one another in recent years, when our paths crossed it was as tho no time had passed & and we picked up right where we left off. I still enjoy her chocolate curl cake!

Tom - I am deeply sorry to hear that your beloved partner Jane passed away suddenly at such an early age. I am sure it is harder to accept since you both just retired to live your remaining lives to the fullest.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family and my prayers are for you to progress through this tragedy.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Jane's passing. She was an optimistic, insightful colleague. Jane did not suffer fools gladly - loved her candour. At the same time, she was honest and respectful, and was a tireless advocate for teachers and students. The education community has lost a fine person, and my thoughts and condolences go out to her family and loved ones.

I am sad to hear of Mrs.Klaray's passing. Although we didn't always see eye to eye, she pushed me to strive for things. She told me in my final days at SCONA to be the best that I can be and to never let fear bring me down. I saw her shortly after i was diagnosed with cervical/uterine cancer at age 20. She told me to remember her words and to look this battle in the eye. She was an amazing woman. I am proud to have had her in my life and I will never forget her words of encouragement to me. Thank you so much for all that you taught me.

A true leader whose commitment and dedication to having every student achieve their best was unparalleled. She found a way to make my daughter who had more profound special needs than most at Ottewell successful and a real part of the school community. My sorrow at her loss, too soon, is deep.

To us she was a great principal and leader at our children's school but to her family she was much more. It is so sad she had so little time after retirement having worked so hard to better the lives of students.
The greatest thing is to be loved and she was loved by many.
