Janet Bacon

Bacon, Janet 10/1/1931 - 11/14/2022 Kalamazoo Janet Bacon, age 91, passed away in the comfort of home on November 14, 2022with her loving family by her side. Janet, a former resident of Jackson, resided in Kalamazoo, Michigan and was born October 1, 1931 in Almena Township to Haywood and Emma Hoskins. She married Guyton Ray in 1950 and to that union two children were born, Donald Ray and Robyn Carter. Janet later married her longtime friend and love, Charles Bacon, July of 1995. Charles preceded her in death in October, 2022. Janet is survived by her children Robyn (Vincent) Carter, Donald (Uanita) Ray, and Charles' children; Charles Henry Bacon, and Michelle (Jeremiah) Bacon-Kerns, six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. All of whom she loved deeply. A person like you doesn't come along very often. You made so many tough times easier and the best times better. We'll hold all the memories we've made together close in our hearts. Those closest to her fondly knew her as Jan, Mama or nana. Jan was a woman of many passions; traveling, playing cards with friends and family, visiting casinos, and spending time at Eagle Lake. As a dedicated mother, she treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She had a gentle personality and always made people around her feel welcome. To say that she will be missed truly is an understatement. A memorial service honoring her life will be held in the spring of 2023.
