I went to Dr. Carney when she first opened her office, in 1987. I had a torn ligament from playing tennis. Dr. Carney was caring and compassionate and soon we became friends. Even though I have moved from Staten Island, we kept in touch. Last year I visited S.I. and we met for dinner along with another friend. Janet will be terribly missed. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family, especially her three sons. As you know, you all were her reason for life and you have made her very proud. Nancy Andrews

To the Carney and Mobilia Families,
I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Carney was not only a wonderful doctor but a warm and caring person with a great sense of humor. I am shocked that she is gone. She helped me when I thought all hope was lost. I will miss her very much. May all your good memories see you through this difficult time.

To Janet's Sons,
I was a patient of your Moms a few years back and she actually saved me from surgery! I was told that my heel spur needed to be operated on in order to get better! On a whim, I decided to go see your Mom and lo and behold, a few cortisone shots and too,too many laughs later I was fine, up and running! I think I actually looked forward to going to her office just to hear her laughing! Lovely Lady who doted on her 3 Sons and spoke of you All! What a Loss to our Community!! Forever Missed!

Dear Mobilia and Carney Families,
Paul and I were shocked to hear about Janet. We have fond memories of all of you at The Ledges. Janet would be on the beach with a large cooler filled to the brim with snacks. She was always so generous especially to our nephew, Jay. Please accept our condolences during this very sad time.

Dear Keith, Matthew, Christopher, John and the Carney Family
Our hearts are broken....on hearing of the loss of Janet
We have the fondest of memories of our get togethers when our families were young; marrying off 3 and 6 year olds as only two irish moms would.
Watching the game last week, Jack thought he would rib her at the next visit; Janet and Jacks' Sox/Yanks rivalry will be sadly missed.
She was an intellegent ,beautiful, proud, candid, feisty and funny person God placed on this earth to be dedicated to her children and her profession, always at 200%
We are with you today in our thoughts and in our prayers and here for you always

In her office hung a plaque inscribed with the following Mark Twain quote:
"KINDNESS is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see".
It's probably the nicest thing I can tell you about Dr. Janet Carney who conducted her life's work that way time and time again.
It spoke for her and said all one needed to know about the type of care they were about to receive.
Our condolences to the family and her beloved children.

As a patient of Dr. Carney's I felt she was a warm, caring, good doctor. She was vibrant and energetic - a good conversationalist, compassionate to her patients. My condolences to the family. We in Staten Island have lost a fine Doctor...a Lady I admired.

Dear Keith & Sons;
I was shocked to hear about the passing of Janet; my deepest condolences on your loss. Formally of Staten Island, I fondly remember my many, many visits to the office and the laughing and fun we had each time I had an appointment. Janet made my visit painless and I always left the office with a smile. She will always be in my thoughts, may she rest in peace.
