Janet Himes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 15, 2017.
JANET S. HIMES Janet S. Himes nee (Sciascio), age 72 of West Chester passed away on August 15, 2017. Beloved wife of James J. Himes of 52 years and loving mother of James J. Himes Jr. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Missy Himes, her dear grandchildren, Travis and Morgen and her sister, Judith A. Molino. In addition she will be greatly missed as a beloved aunt to her nieces, nephews and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Marie Sciascio and her sister, Rosemarie S. Porte. Janet enjoyed her retirement from her longtime employer, Anro, by spending time with her family and much loved dogs. She enjoyed entertaining her friends and family and was known as an excellent cook. She hosted bridal showers, barbeques and many wonderful holiday dinners over the years, preparing favorites for everyone. Family counted on and looked forward to Janet's nightly conversations, checking in on them and making sure all was well. In addition, Janet had a soft spot for dogs and could always be counted on to sneak a treat to any she met. Janet will be deeply missed by all who knew her, enjoyed her sense of humor, hospitality or had the very distinct pleasure of knowing her well. Funeral and Interment are private.

Jim,
We are so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. Although we have not seen each other since you moved from the area, you both were the first to welcome us to the neighborhood. I was so shocked to hear of this news and pray that Janet is at peace and free from any pain. May God watch over you and may the happy memories find peace in your heart.
Our Deepest Sympathies,
Joe, Barbara Ianovale & Family

Dear Jim and little as mom called you. I am so sad for you . She will be missed so much. Though we had not seen each other in some time, we have so many special memories of our past years together when our children were young. We were always together then. I loved her spirit and energy. I will miss her. Love Loretta

On Tuesday August 15, 2017 I lost my best friend, my rock and my world. Mom you are everything to me, Missy, Travis and Morgen. There is a piece of our hearts missing now, Travis and Morgen loved their Nana so much. I will miss our phone conversations that we had every day, going out to dinner, having a martini with only one olive and so much more. You are now in a better place free of pain. Mom, one day I will hold your hand again that I promise you. I am going to have some rough days ahead without you that is for sure, please look down on us and always guide us in the proper direction. Rest in piece Mom, I love you so much.
