Janice C. Baumer

Janice C. (Looney) Baumer of Muncy, formerly of Canton, passed away on Tuesday March 12, 2013 at the Muncy Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit. She was 42 years old.

Janice was born on May 14, 1970 in Williamsport. She was a daughter of William "Mike" (Judith) Looney of Wyalusing and Kathleen (Garry) Baumunk of Canton.

Janice graduated from Canton High School in 1988 and soon after moved to the Williamsport/Muncy area to make her home. She worked for numerous businesses throughout her career, most recently at TJ's Market in Hughesville.

Janice's greatest pride and joy in life were her daughters, Katy and Kendra, whom she adored and cherished the time they spent together. Janice enjoyed life and developed life-long friendships with many friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends and was always experimenting with new dishes. You'd also find Janice checking out thrift stores and yard sales, always looking for a bargain.

In addition to her parents, Janice is survived by her daughters, Katy Sue Baumer and Kendra Baumer both of Whitesville, N.Y.; a sister, Ann (Jim) Bryan of Canton; brothers, Jay and Chad Baumunk both of Canton; step-brothers Brian (Jeryl) Keefe of Danielsville and Kevin (Nicole) Keefe of Duncannon; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Also her special friend and caregiver, Heather Campbell of Williamsport.

She was predeceased by grandparents; William and Jane Looney and Rodman and Ethel Holmes, an uncle, Bob Holmes and a stepbrother, Bret Keefe.

Calling hours are 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, with Rev. Bonnie Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and keeping with Janice's wishes, an education fund for Katy and Kendra has been established and donations may be sent to William Looney, 749 Lime Hill Rd. Wyalusing, PA 18853.
