Jason A. Hatzopoulos Obituary

Visit the Legacy Remembers website to view the full obituary.
Jason A. Hatzopoulos, 36, a lifelong resident of Nashua passed away suddenly Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Southern NH Medical Center as a result of cardiac arrest. On November 6, 1978, Jason was welcomed into his loving family by his parents, Nancy (Sandberg) and the late Anthony Hatzopoulos along with his sister Christina.

Jason was a 1997 graduate of Nashua High School and then received an Associate Degree at Nashua Vocational Technical Institute.

Jason's engaging personality was perfect for his career as a manager of customer service at Ashley and Ashbrook furniture. Jason also became a licensed real estate agent, working for Keller Williams Realty.

Jason was dynamic and charismatic, creating friendships wherever he went. He was loyal and generous to all, lending a hand whenever it was needed. He was highly respected for his ability to conquer any challenge and would never give up.

Jason was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many hours with friends and family enjoying his passions. He looked forward to the winter months when he could take to the trails on his snowmobile.

Jason loved to have a good time, he was the life of the party. A smart, witty, and genuine man. Over the years, Jason amassed an entire community of friends. Everyone knew "Jay Hatz".

In keeping with Jason's giving way, his mother and sister chose to carry on Jason's spirit by giving the gift of life through anatomical donations to the New England Organ Bank so that he could continue to help others.

Jason is survived by his mother; Nancy (Sandberg) Hatzopoulos of Nashua, his sister; Christina Hatzopoulos of Nashua, his two dogs; Lincoln and Lexus and by many, many friends. He was predeceased by his father; Anthony Hatzopoulos in 2002.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 1, 2014 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W. Hollis St., Nashua. The family will greet friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of the funeral. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101.

I dont know quite what to say. SO SAD. When you spend 15 hours or more with someone on a small boat ,fishing , out some 30 miles in the ocean, sometimes overnight, sometimes thru a scary violent wind and rain storm over many weekends and many years, you develope a special friendship.that carries over to many activities throughout the years. Jay you will be sorely missed.

may your family find peace in knowing you are resting.
fly high my friend!

I dont know what to say. So Sad. Dispite the difference in our ages, we spent a lot of time together in many different ways not just fishing. Fifteen or more hours together on a small boat, 40 miles out in the ocean ,sometimes overnight, sometimes in some scary, violent rain and wind storms, on many weekends over many years brings two people together like nothing else. Jay you will be sorely missed, RIP

Nancy & Christina, I am so sorry for your loss. I have a lot of memories of all of us in the neighborhood playing together and sitting on the picnic table in-between Lynn's house and yours playing with BUGS. Also at the school bus playing Red Rover, Red Rover. I know I am far away and can not help out, but if you need anything my mom is still in the house and can help you in any way. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
