Jasper Aaron Lynch

Jasper Aaron Lynch passed away much too soon at 26 years old at his home in McLean, Virginia on July 7, 2022. He is greatly missed and survived by his parents, Pat and Kathy Lynch, his older brother Will, his twin sister Tory, and his grandmother Frances Dickerson.

Aaron was born on March 25, 1996. In his formative years he attended Churchill Road Elementary, The Washington Episcopal School and The Potomac School. He continued his higher education at Wesleyan University, Smith College and Goddard College. Aaron was first and foremost a critical thinker and talented writer. Among some of his writing accomplishments was his second-place award in Maryland in the Letters About Literature writing contest sponsored by the Library of Congress. More recently, his writing reflected his interests in philosophy and spirituality. Upon hearing of Aaron's death, one of his college mentors lamented that "there are breakthrough, world-changing books missing from our future shelves." His valuing of authentic human connection is remembered by both friends and teachers, one teacher said Aaron was "the single most powerful reason that I know I want to continue teaching." And his wit and ability to turn any moment into hilarity was a gift.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 2pm at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1125 Savile Lane, McLean, Virginia. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/c/ImmanuelPresbyterianChurch.

In lieu of flowers, Aaron's family requests that donations be made in his memory to The American Civil Liberties Union or The Trevor Project.
