JAY HERNANDEZ Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 26, 2023.
HERNANDEZ Jay Hernandez (aka) "Fiddles" passed away quietly at his home in Roseburg, Oregon. He was born the son of Juan and Angie Hernandez and was 1 of 9 siblings; John, Joe, Jerry, and Blanca (Lela), who since preceded him in death; Sally, Kitty, Irene, and Jack Hernandez live in Yolo County. In 1991, he married his loving wife, Karen Hernandez, and they shared the next 34 years of their life. He became the father of 6 children, Jay-Jay, Ramon, Erik, Jason, Katrina, and Sabrina, and was the grandfather of 12 beautiful grandkids. Fiddles was a long-time native of Yolo, California, most of his life. In 2005 he moved his family to Roseburg, Oregon, where he would live the remainder of his life. No one who met Fiddles would forget his love for non-working activities; he loved spending each day playing with his grandkids, his side-kick Lola the Chorky the dog, and his faithful companion. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and the Seattle Sea Hawks while enjoying his favorite oldie but goodies. With a heavy heart, we say goodbye for now, until we meet again.

I hold next to my heart all the fond memories from learning to fix minor mechanical problems of a car to learning to tie boy scout knots, and learning how and the exact spot of jumping off the rock when we went swimming and you and Karen being the first two people there when Joseph was born, I truly thank you for everything you taught and done for us, we were truly blessed to have such an amazing humble man for an uncle I will share the memories with my kids and grandkids, you will live on, rest easy uncle fidds.

I will miss you, uncle fiddles, but I will always have our fun memories of all of us cousins going to the river on inner tubes and eating bologna sandwiches! I will never forget Jay-Jay getting swallowed under a tree trunk that fell across the river and spit back out on the other side. I thought he was a goner!
