JAY THOMAS
Jay Thomas Steffler, age 57, of Mt. Nebo, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 25, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Tanner; loving parents, Jerry and Dorothe Steffler; and sisters, Lynda Sempf and Shelle Baldwin. Also surviving are nephews, Brandon and Andrew Baldwin; nieces, Lara Houk, Terrah and Stephany Baldwin, Jessika Keefer, Leisel, Erin and Haley Sempf, Melissa Tanner; and ten grandnieces and nephews. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Jay produced documentaries on the arts and played in several Pittsburgh bands. Jay was an avid supporter of patient rights and loved all animals, especially his beloved dogs, Dylan, Blu and Arlo. A tribute concert will be planned for the future. Contributions may be made to rsds.org and Animal Friends.

Jay was our sons' baby-sitter when we lived on Edwood Road. He was a role model for my eldest who thought Jay was just perfect. So sorry to read his obituary. Our family has loving memories of all the Stefflers. I will always

I first met Jay when we were eleven. We reconnected at NA through the plays and acting class. We did a scene together in an Arther Miller play. Jay had a unique insight on different things. I always liked talking to him. He was a gentle soul an I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

I was sorry to learn of Jay's passing. I met Jay during the summer of 1974 at Camp Kon-O-Kwee in Fombell, PA. I was a counselor, and Jay was a counselor-in-training. Our paths never crossed again after that summer, but I always remembered Jay and feel blessed to have known him. May he rest in peace.
