DROP JEAN (PLAVETICH)
Age 73, of Monessen, on Saturday, July 4, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Frances Kovatich Plavetich. Mrs. Drop was a retired Charleroi High School Spanish Teacher having taught for over 35 years. She was a life member of the National Educational Association. She was a Monessen High School graduate. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Spanish from California University. Jean was Catholic by faith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kim Anderson; and her beloved husband of 32 years, Louis Drop. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John "Jack" McElroy. She is survived by her brother, John Plavetich of Monessen; her sister, Mrs. Frances McElroy of McMurray; her nephews, John and Hilary McElroy of Mt. Lebanon and Ryan McElroy and Stacey Babyak of Pittsburgh; her great-nephews, Jack Landers, and Nicholas Russell McElroy of Mt. Lebanon; as well as aunts, an uncle and cousins. Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Blvd. and Marion Ave., Monessen, PA. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home with Fr. Michael Crookston officiating. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Monessen. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made in Jean's memory to the Kim Anderson Memorial Scholarship in Political Science, Pennsylvania State University - School of Liberal Arts, 13 Sparks Building, University Park, PA 16082.
