Jean Lindblad

Jean Taggart Lindblad, 91, of Westwood, formerly of Needham, died of natural causes on September 8, 2017. Born in Philadelphia on April 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Kathryn Voegele Taggart and Henry M. Taggart and grew up in Philadelphia and later in Newtown, PA. After attending George School in Newtown, class of 1943, she graduated from Middlebury College in 1947, and earned a masters degree in early childhood education from Wheelock College in 1967. She was the founder and longtime director of the Congregational Church Nursery School in Needham. Predeceased by husband Carl A. Lindblad, Jr. and her brother Robert H. Taggart, Jean is survived by sons Peter and wife Ann Lindblad of Hudson; and Timothy and wife Susan Lindblad of Andover. She is also survived by five grandsons: Andy and wife Emily Lindblad of Maynard; Matthew Lindblad and wife Amanda Gustin of Barre, VT; Scott and wife Elizabeth Lindblad of Boston; and Henry and D. Lindblad, both of Andover. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, triplets Jack, Olive and Ella Lindblad of Maynard. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Jeans Memorial Service at the Congregational Church of Needham, 1154 Great Plain Ave, Needham, on Saturday, September 16th at 10:0 AM. Interment is private.
