Jean Shortreed Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Jun. 27, 2018.
Jean Margaret Shortreed April 12, 1928 - June 22, 2018 Jean Margaret Shortreed (Stewart) passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, daughter Susan Evans, grandchildren, Sarah, David (Jenny), Chris (Alexa), Katherine (Thiago) Evans, Kelly (Patrick) Knill and Bill Shortreed, and her great grandchildren, Kaya Shortreed, Jaxson and Madison Knill, Hunter, Mackenzie, Emily and Alexandra Evans, her sister, Mary Downs and her family, Barry, Bill, Elizabeth (Bruce), Susan (Steven) and Curtis Morgans. Jean was predeceased in 2015 by her son, Ken. Jean grew up and then proudly raised her family in Kerrisdale. She was an accomplished pianist through her teenage years, and later shared her talent and love of music with others as a piano teacher. Bowen Island summers held very special memories for Jean and all her family. Later, Jean spent several years living in West Vancouver where she enjoyed walking daily on the seawall. She became a familiar face to many North Shore families while working at Marjolin/Pebbles Children's Wear shop in Dundarave. Her travels with Mary and Barry during these years were some of her happiest times.

Our family's sincere appreciation to the caring staff at Braddan Private Hospital where Jean spent her last 3 years. Our family will gather to celebrate Gram's life.
