Jeanette "Jess" Justin, 90, passed on Dec. 1, 2017, at Keystone Pointe Nursing Facility after a brief illness.
She is survived by her housemate of 41 years, Jeannette Bemis, as well as Gen Chadwick, the entire Bemis family, many friends, and her devoted dog, Kiya. Her parents, Christopher Justin and Mary Justin, and two brothers, Clyde and Ralph, preceded her in death.
She was a lifelong resident of Oberlin, graduated from Oberlin High School, attended Oberlin Business School, and worked at the Oberlin Clinic for 25 years. She was an avid sports fan and played with a women's fast-pitch traveling team for several years. She was also president of the Russia Farm Women's Club at one time.
Jess loved cooking, canning, gardening, dogs, and all farm animals. She attended the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Elyria for the past 41 years.
A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Pittsfield Town Hall at routes 303 and 58. Friends may share condolences at 2 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 2:30 p.m., conducted by her niece, Ruby Bemis, a lifelong Christian Scientist. Following the service, Jess' favorite meal will be served.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Key Way Youth Chapter of Discovery Bound, 309 East Ave., Elyria, OH; or The Cedars Camp in Lebanon, Mo.
