Jeanne M. Eppley (nee Schroeder), age 93, lifelong resident of Elyria, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at O'Neill Healthcare Center in North Ridgeville. She was born in Elyria on May 16, 1925. Jeanne learned how to play the piano at an early age. She attended Elyria High School and graduated in 1943. A short time later she wed Bruce M. Eppley, to whom she was married for 35 years. A very hard worker, Jeanne managed the family household with four growing boys while assisting Bruce with the family potato farm. She became well known for her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, and her flowers were often decorating the altar at church. She and her family were members of Zion United Methodist Church (formerly Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church) in Elyria. She is survived by her sons Thomas B., Wayne A. (Karen), Dennis L. (Sandra), and Michael D. Eppley; grandchildren Lori (William) Eppley Springer, Brian (Laura) Eppley, Mark (Kayleigh) Eppley, Rebecca (Richard) Reaser, Danielle (William) Monske, Allyson (Vincent) Tommasini, and Jason (Brittany) Eppley; five great grandchildren; longtime best friend Betty Pribich; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Bruce M. Eppley; a grandson, Jonathan K. Eppley; sisters Violet Spiegelberg and Ruth Moore; brothers Dr. Robert Schroeder and Charles Schroeder; and parents, Albert and Edna Schroeder. Friends may call Tuesday, June 5 at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St., Elyria, from 4-8 pm. A graveside service and burial will take place at North Murray Ridge Cemetery on Wednesday, June 6 at 11:30 am, with Rev. Richard K. Kretchmar officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Jonathan K.
