DARTMOUTH - Jeannette M. (Despres) Lame, 88, of Dartmouth and formerly of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010, at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth, after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Eugene A. Lame, Sr.; and daughter of the late Onezime and Aurelie (Bastarache) Despres.

She was born and lived most of her life in New Bedford until relocating to Dartmouth four months ago. She was formerly employed by Tweeve Mfg., as a seamstress until her retirement.

She was a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed arts and crafts and made many gifts for her family, grandchildren and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeannine A. McHenry and her husband, George of New Bedford; two sons, Eugene C. Lame, Jr., of New Bedford and Gerald O. Lame of New Bedford; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Joseph "Tom" Despres, Laurette Judd and Corinne Maranda Robillard; and grandmother of the late Jason Lame.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 PM at Rock Funeral Home. Her Funeral will be from the Funeral Home on Thursday at 8 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church at 9 AM. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery.
