Jeffery Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 14, 2024.
Jeffery Alan Jones passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, in Wesley Chapel, Florida, at the age of 62, after a ferocious battle with a brief illness.

Jeff was born on November 7, 1961, in St. Charles, Illinois, and spent his childhood there with his mother(Marie), father(James) and brother(Jimmy) before moving to Citrus County Florida where he finished out his school and teenage years.

Soon after graduating high school, Jeff followed in his fathers footsteps and took on a career in the boating field, spending many years traveling the world and working on barges of all kinds.

When those travels came to an end, he settled in Indiana where he ultimately met Amie, whom he would marry and start an amazing family with that included two beautiful daughters, Brianna and Bailee.

Jeff was always a man that enjoyed a challenge and lived life collecting a great vault of stories and wisdom he loved to share with anyone he ran across.

Jeff moved into a professional career in the sales of plumbing equipment where he spent many years building a great group of colleagues and friends who respected him both in and out of the professional playing field. His professional journey was marked by significant contributions in various roles within the business sector. Most recently, he served as the Business Development Manager at Max-Air Technology, a position he held for almost 3 years until his passing. Jeff loved to strive to always grow and improve as a person and found the opportunities to continue to do so through his work which he took a large amount of pride in.

Outside of his professional life, Jeff had a passion for the outdoors and various hobbies that kept him active and fulfilled. He was an avid hiker, painter, and car enthusiast. Jeff never missed a chance to get outside and soak up some vitamin D, whether in his backyard or at the beach which always had a special place in his heart. Jeff also had a special love for formula one racing and spent many years of his life going to watch and enjoy the atmosphere of the Indy 500 in Indianapolis.

Jeff was a family oriented man and recently got the opportunity of becoming a "Papa J" to his first grandson a little over a year ago. He was a strong and fierce provider for his family, while also being the sounding board and fixer of all problems for his wife and two daughters. He cherished every moment he was able to spend with the people he loved and will be missed dearly.

Jeff leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss his presence: his wife, Amie Jones; daughters, Brianna Jones and Bailee Jones; son-in-law, Andrew Soom; and his grandson, Hendrix Riches. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and James Jones, and his brother, also named James(Jimmy) Jones.

Jeff will be remembered for his dedication to his family and career, his love for life, his witty humor, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy will live on through the lives of his family and all who knew him.

We love you dad. The memories you gave us we will cherish forever, our only regret will be we didn't get the chance to make more. From teaching us to carry on your love for the outdoors and car racing, to every lesson you bestowed upon us you were the most amazing example of what a father, man, and husband should be.

I met and worked with Jeff at Hayward Flow Control. I recently learned and was shocked of his passing. Jeff was always willing to drop what he was doing to help someone. He was willing and happy to provide guidance on actuation and controls... something he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about. I used to laugh whenever we had a function in NC and he would be wearing a jacket because he said it was too cold.. and it was 70 degrees outside. Being from Florida, he was used to a much warmer and humid climate. We shared many personal things in common and I will miss his passion and wit. Sometimes he would get a little too worked up about things but that was his nature. My sincere belated condolences to his entire family. He will be missed by many friends and colleagues.

Having just found this, I'm shocked and saddened. I met, and worked with Jeff closely whilst completing my work at the Frost Science Museum in Miami. Jeff was a 'real' and sincere person with whom I immediately established a friendship. Always supportive, and 120 percent a great human being.

Jeff will always hold a special place in my heart. He was a very understanding friend who always knew the right things to say. He loved his daughters and grandson with all his heart! They were his life. You will be missed my friend, so much more than you would have ever realized. God speed Jeff.

My memories of Jeff were of positive from the heart meaningful conversations. I spent a brief few years working with Jeff at Hayward. He was a top notch professional and always stopped what he was doing to help. I do recall a story he told me about a large rattlesnake & it´s family under his house. I believe it hangs in his office. My deepest regards and. Condolences to Jeff´s family. See ya on the other side brother!

I met Jeff through work as our Hayward Vendor contact and attending the AALSO trade shows. We kept in touch after he changed territories and then companies. He was a kind and professional man. I loved his stories and he had fun telling them. He adored and truly loved his family, he would glow and had the biggest smile when talkin about them. My Prayers and Condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues. RIP Jeff, you will be missed.

Jeff and I were very different people on a personal level, but incredibly connected on a professional level. We traversed the controls and automation industries together for more than 25 years, always learning from each other's fields of expertise. He left too soon, with so much more to give, doing what he enjoyed. May my friend forever rest in Peace.
