The Schweissinger Family sadly announces the passing of Jeffery Wayne
Schweissinger. Jeff tragically passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in a motorcycle accident
in Ventura, CA. Jeff was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 15, 1955. He moved to California
in 1975 and was a resident of Ventura County for over 40 years. He graduated from California
State University, Northridge in 1989 with a degree in Psychology and went on to complete his
Masters Degree in Psychology at California Lutheran University. He dedicated his life to helping
children with special needs and their families.
On January 11, 1992 Jeff married his beloved wife, Donna Buckley in Thousand Oaks,
CA. They went on to have three wonderful daughters, Lauren (1994), and Taryn and Taylor
(1998). Jeff is survived by his brothers, Mark, Darrel, and Glenn (Patti) Schweissinger, and
sister, Sheryl (Laurie) Schweissinger, brother-in-laws, Mike, Dan and Jim Buckley, sister-in-law,
Theresa (Ray) Hamel, and many nieces and nephews, both in California and Wisconsin.
Jeff was preceded in death by his daughter, Lauren, his brother, Ray, his father, Earl,
and his mother, Geraldine Dansan.
Jeff was passionate about his family, helping others, and spending his free time on a
mountain, in a forest, or on a beach. Jeff also loved wine tasting and cooking for his friends and
family.
Jeff had an infectious personality that made everyone want to be around him. He was
kind, loyal, caring, and had a sense of humor like no other. He will be greatly missed by all who
knew him. He will always be remembered as an outstanding husband, father, brother, uncle,
and friend.
The celebration of Jeff's life will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the
Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park Chapel, located at 5600 Lindero Canyon Road in
Westlake Village. In lieu of flowers, the Schweissinger family requests that donations be made
to Tri-Counties Regional Center Client Help Fund. Checks can be made payable to: Client Help
