I am so sorry for the pain and sadness that his family is experiencing. Tara, I want you to know that you have a bunch of friends of your father's that would do anything for his family. Thank you for allowing us to have some time with him, the Monday before he left. It meant a lot to us, and getting to say hello to you was a blessing. Your courage in extremely sad times is something I will never forget. Jeff means so much to me. It is hard to know where to start. First, when I was very new and broken, as are many who find their way into the place I met him, Jeff was very supportive, but firmly set on his path in life. I respect that so much today, and really did not like that about him back then. But he helped me by being loving but firm because I needed people to hold my feet to the fire, or I'd probably be dead. Then, when Justin died, a mutual friend called and asked me to come and be with Jeff. You see, I lost my son about 14 months earlier, to the same set of circumstances. I remember talking about the experience with a group of people, Jeff being one of them, and feeling the support and love of that group which allowed me to talk very candidly about losing my son. Jeff came up and gave me a big hug, and thanked me. What I don't think he realized, when Justin passed away, and I was sitting and just listening and supporting him, Jeff was helping me. I'm so sad to have him gone from us all. But, in a way, I feel like every time I think of him, or talk to another person about him, Jeff is a little bit closer to me. I would be very honored to attend any celebration of life to honor my friend. Thank you, and all the love in my heart to Jeff, Tara, and the Aldridge family,
Mike P.
