Jeffrey Caldwell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 25, 2024.
Jeffrey Alan Caldwell, known to his loved ones as Jeff, passed away on December 30, 2023, at the age of 72 in Stamford, CT. He was born on July 1, 1951, in Stamford, CT. Jeffrey was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his two daughters, Alexis Caldwell (36) and Taylor Caldwell (34), as well as his granddaughters Kelly Rose and Zeta Ivylynn. He was also cherished by his older brother Bertrand Caldwell, younger brother Dana Caldwell, and his nieces and nephews. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Bertrand N Caldwell, and his mother, Barbara Caldwell.

Jeffrey had a passion for sports and was an avid athlete. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing baseball, football, and diving. He also had a leisurely golf swing that brought him joy. In addition to his love for sports, Jeffrey had a deep affection for animals and enjoyed spending time with them. He was known for his gentle nature and would never harm a fly.

Jeffrey's heart was filled with love for his family, especially his two daughters and granddaughters. He cherished every moment spent with them and his love for them knew no bounds. He also had a love for reading and would often immerse himself in books for hours. The history channel was another one of his interests, as he enjoyed expanding his knowledge about the past. Jeffrey had a talent for cooking and delighted in preparing delicious meals for his loved ones.

Jeffrey attended New Canaan High School and later pursued higher education at Daniel Webster Junior College. Although he had attempted various high-paying cubicle jobs, Jeffrey realized that being cooped up indoors was not his cup of tea. Instead, he found fulfillment working odd house painting and construction jobs, allowing him to be outdoors and enjoy the fresh air.

In his leisure time, Jeffrey indulged in his hobbies, which included football, golf, reading, and drawing. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to express his creativity and passion.

A memorial service to celebrate Jeffrey's life will be held outdoors in late March or early April, in accordance with his love for the outdoors. The exact date and details will be determined by the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Aspca, an organization close to Jeffrey's heart.

Luddy Funeral Home in New Britain, CT, is assisting the family with the arrangements for Jeffrey's passing. Their compassionate and professional staff will ensure that the ceremony honors his life and provides comfort to his loved ones during this difficult time.

I loved my Dad more than any other man to cross my path (sorry guys)
I've always been a Daddys girl.
Yes, growing up without him was tough but we rekindled our relationship and we would speak regularly. Not a day goes by where I don't recap a happy childhood memory with my dad involved. He was my hero, for the lonnnnnngest time. I am still having a hard time processing that I won't be able to call him anymore. Or give him a hug. But, I can still tell him I love him...and where ever he is... he'll hear me.

I am very happy he's no longer physically and emotionally suffering anymore... but this is literally the most anguish I've ever been in.

I love you Dad, and miss you more than you could fathom. Or maybe you could... you were always saying how much you miss me and my sister. I don't think I ever quite understood the gravity of that love... until now. As it burns in my chest and leaves me grief stricken.
