Jeffrey D. Jones peacefully passed away on 3/9/2018.
He held a joint law degree and master's in finance from Duke University and worked for the State of Florida for over 22 years. Along with his love for travel and basketball, Jeff was a loving husband (Cheryl Johnson), a dedicated son (Lauretta Jones), a protective big brother (Darrell Jones), and a loyal friend to many.
A memorial celebration for Jeff will be held at: Azu, Sunday, March 25, 4-6 PM, 3220 Apalachee Parkway.

Jeff and I were classmates at Duke Law School and I'll forever remember his warmth, kindness and great sense of humor. He was a great guy who was well liked by all his classmates. I'm very sorry to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Jeffrey's is a light that will never go out. All who had the extraordinary experience of calling him friend learned how to be a better friend. His wit & wisdom are legendary. I'm very sorry to learn of the death of my colleague, friend and brother of the Bar, Jeffrey Jones. We worked together at the Florida Department of Banking and Finance and later stayed in touch loosely, often at Ted's Montana Grill. I am shocked by the news and send sincere condolences to his family and friends.

It was with great pleasure working with Jeffery these last 4 years and getting to know my adult nephew, from the teenager I had known and watched grow up. Jeffrey was a bright, kind, generous and very funny guy.
He made the best corn pudding on the planet for every holiday meal.
He loved Garrett's Popcorn from Chicago.
Every Fourth of July and New Years Eve, he would put on a great fireworks show.
His knowledge was vast on many topics, and he was incredibly skilled with the English language, always eager to share an anecdote on the most interesting subjects.
Those fortunate enough to have his friendship will dearly miss his humor, intellect and joyous spirit.
